Grande Portage Resources is a small Canadian mining exploration company focused on finding and developing gold deposits. Its main asset is the Herbert Gold Project, located in southeastern Alaska near the town of Haines. The company does not yet produce or sell gold — it is still in the exploration stage, drilling and testing the ground to figure out how much gold might be there.

Because it is pre-revenue, Grande Portage makes no money from selling minerals. It funds its work by raising cash from investors through stock offerings. The company operates solely in Alaska and is very small, with a market cap around $100 million. It has no real competitive moat yet — its value depends entirely on whether the Herbert project turns out to hold enough gold to justify building a mine. The biggest risk is that exploration results disappoint or that the company runs out of funding before it can prove the deposit is economically viable.
