Hon Hai Precision Industry, better known as Foxconn, is a Taiwanese company that assembles electronics for some of the world's biggest tech brands. Its core business is contract manufacturing — it builds smartphones, laptops, servers, and other devices that other companies design and sell. Apple is its largest customer, and Foxconn is widely recognized as the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer.

Foxconn makes money by charging fees to assemble products at massive scale, which explains its thin profit margins — it keeps only a few cents on every dollar of revenue. The company operates enormous factories primarily in China, with growing facilities in India, Vietnam, and Mexico as customers seek to diversify their supply chains. Its main competitive advantage is sheer manufacturing scale and deep relationships with major tech brands, but heavy reliance on Apple for a large share of revenue is a significant concentration risk. Foxconn is also investing in electric vehicles and AI server infrastructure as potential new growth areas.
