Nissan Motor Co. is a Japanese automaker that designs, builds, and sells cars, trucks, and SUVs around the world. Its most well-known models include the Altima sedan, Rogue SUV, Frontier pickup truck, and the Leaf, one of the earliest mass-market electric vehicles. Nissan sells to everyday consumers and fleet buyers across more than 160 countries, competing in the mainstream and near-luxury segments through its Nissan and Infiniti brands.

The company earns money primarily by selling vehicles and offering financing and after-sales services like parts and maintenance. Nissan operates major manufacturing plants in Japan, the United States, Mexico, China, and the United Kingdom, and generates a large share of revenue from North America and China. Its long-standing alliance with Renault and Mitsubishi gives it shared platforms and cost savings, but Nissan faces serious pressure from rising competition in China — its largest single market — particularly from fast-growing domestic Chinese electric vehicle brands.
