Panoro Energy ASA is a Norwegian oil and gas company that finds and produces crude oil in Africa. It operates producing oil fields in Tunisia, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and South Africa, selling the oil it pumps to international buyers on the global energy market. The company is a small independent producer focused entirely on African assets, which is relatively unusual among European-listed energy firms.

Panoro makes money by selling crude oil, so its revenue rises and falls with global oil prices. It is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, but all of its production happens in Africa, and with a market cap of around $4.2 billion it sits firmly in small-cap territory. The company's African focus gives it access to assets that larger oil majors have sold off, but that same focus is also its biggest risk — political instability, regulatory changes, or a sustained drop in oil prices in any of its host countries could meaningfully hurt production and cash flow.
